It is the time of the year that the Awana calendar for next year should be finalized. It is important to have it done about this time of the year (if not before depending on your church culture and size) so that you can have events on the church calendar and be able to announce to families when registration will open for the next year and the first night of Awana for the new year.
So what are some key dates that you should have on your calendar?
Here are a few items that I would suggest:
- When registration begins
- The first night of club
- The lessons each week that clubbers should be working on – what will be covered that week
- Theme nights – how many depends on your individual club
- Any events you hold – Grand Prix, Operation Christmas Child, Raising Support for your local missionary, etc.
- Your local Awana Ministry Conference (dates/registration to be posted)
- Any regional events that you may participate (and practice dates if applicable)
- International Day of Prayer for Awana (2.15, February 15th)
- Any trainings/meetings you may hold
- Closing program/awards (if you hold one)
- Any church-wide events that impact Awana, or may interest families
How is your calendar shaping up?
Would you add any other items to the list?
