As humans, we are often very short sighted people. We plan for the upcoming night, and may plan week to week. We may get frustrated when clubbers are not progressing how we want week to week.
What if we changed our thought process? What if we tried to envision them 2, 3, 4 years in the future. HOw do we want them to progress in the faith?
Can you see one of your clubbers as a future Awana leader? As a future Awana Ministry Director? Let’s look at a shorter time. Can you see them as a future student leader?
Let’s shorten the time frame… can you see your third grader who struggles doing the Bible study at home (the Explore section) becoming the sixth grader who not only studies at home, but begins to mentor and help the new third graders?
Don’t have a short sighted view of your clubbers…. look to the future and see what they could be and then help disciple them to that next point in their lives as they follow Jesus.
