I was looking at the passage in Matthew 25 where Jesus is separating the sheep from the goats. It is the judgement where Jesus is looking at what we have done which shows our heart.
As I looked at it, I couldn’t help but think of the comparison of sheep and goats. Sheep eat grass which is good for them. Goats eat anything! Well they will sample things that look edible. Children are like goats, they will take in everything. However, goats that are cared for on farms, domesticated goats, are given good feed to make sure they receive the proper nutrition.
Just a quick thought today. Are you, as a shepherd for the children in your care, leading the children to good fields for them to learn and grow, or to fields filled with weeds and general growth allowing them to taste a little bit of everything, hoping they will make the right decisions? Do your large group time lessons teach the Gospel and things of God, or is it more entertainment?
What fields are you leading the children to?
What things are you allowing your children to partake of and taste ?
