As you probably know, last week my mother passed away suddenly and unexpectedly. It was a shock to the family and we held the funeral on Christmas Eve.
Losing a loved one is always difficult and being near the holidays, it just expedites how quickly you celebrate the holiday without the loved one. I’m not going to dwell on my process in dealing with the loss, or personal things I dealt with, but I want to share my deep appreciation for all of the well wishes, personal stories, prayers, calls, etc that I have received from the general Awana and Kidmin communities. It is the support of these communities that have helped get me through. It touches my heart every time I get a note, or e-mail, from someone saying that they are praying for me and my family.
That is the benefit of networking with others in ministry. The outpouring of love that I have experienced by everyone has been overwhelming to me. Words cannot adequately convey my deep appreciation for all of the prayers and support I have received. I wish I could respond to each of you personally, but that is not possible. Please know that I have received and read your e-mails, FaceBook comments, CMConnect posts, etc. and each one has touched my heart.
While I am still going through this valley, I am beginning to get back to my normal routine. I will be going back to work tomorrow (Wednesday), refocusing on the site/blog and other general things.
Again, thank you does not seem adequate, but I appreciate all of the words of support, encouragement and prayers that I have received over the last week. Thank you for your love and concern during this time, and every day. You may never know the actual impact it has had on me.
