As the ministry year begins, we are optimistic that God will do great things. The one thing that we don’t consider is that we are human, we get tired, frustrated, and sometimes it seems our service is in vain. Unfortunately we sometimes take this out on the children or other leaders through the words we say, and once the words have been “released”, you cannot bring them back.
James 3:10 (ESV) reads, “From the same mouth come blessing and cursing. My brothers, these things ought not to be so.” May we remember to be wise with the words we speak. If you are having a rough night, take a deep breathe and say a simple, quick prayer to ask God to help you and then say things to encourage the child, or other leader.
Take a moment and listen to this song, follow along with the lyrics and ask God to help your words be life to the children in your ministry, to other leaders, and all you come in contact with during your day.
