As we welcome a new year, we embrace re-commitments and goals. At the end of 2022, I wrote a blog post entitled, “The Absence of Commander Bill as we Enter 2023” where I shared my work situation and various time commitments. My goal was to find “room on my plate” to focus more on Commanderbill.net but the reality is that in 2023 I continued to average 56 hours a week at my full-time job. My plate remained full and I wrote one blog post all year for commanderbill.net. While I have been active in my Commander Bill Facebook groups, that has been the most of the focus. 2023 was the first year in many that I was not involved in any Awana conferences, either online or in person. This has been a unique year.
What will 2024 hold? Only time will tell. I do not see the hours that I spend at my full-time job decreasing much, if any, and the time that I focus on leading children’s ministry in the local church may increase. That means that if I plan to focus on Commanderbill.net, and my other online ministry, Small Church Kidmin, I will need to manage my time well, and maintain a proper focus.
I have bold plans and goals for 2024. Some will come to fruition, some will fail. Though it sounds like a cliche, my ultimate goal is to grow closer to God and to do His will.
I plan to update the record keeping software information by mid-February, and to regularly post once or twice a month. Another goal is to establish a regular time to have a live, or recorded, video along with webinars and Zoom meetings.
Yes it is a bold plan. One I am not sure I can achieve, but I am currently determined to attempt.
As we enter 2024, what bold plans do you have?
