Just over a year ago, I introduced the Commander Bill App for iOS and Android. I did not know what the response would be, but I knew that many were using mobile devices and an app seemed like a logical next step. I also received a great deal for the app. So the app was launched. It did have several downloads and some people used it on a regular basis.
Recently I was advised of changes Apple was making regarding apps, an apps like mine would no longer meet their criteria. Consequently, the company hosting my app opted to leave the app business. I looked into a few other options which would have increased my cost dramatically. As I am sure you are aware, I provide the resources for free. I do encourage sponsors for the weekly e-mail and website as a way to try to generate enough income to cover the basic cost of the site.
There is not enough funds to keep the app going and recently, the app has been discontinued. If you have downloaded the app, a few functions may still work, but the app is generally “dead”.
So yes, the Commander Bill app has come to an end. If you would like to support Commander Bill, the web site, etc, then you have several options. One is to click on the donate button and donate via PayPal (it is not tax deductible) or by becoming a member.
As I look ahead to 2018, I see it as a year of change. More on that later.
