At the CMConference, I sat in on a breakout led by Joe Bridger, a former children’s pastor who has become a lead pastor of a church. The breakout focused on the seasons of ministry and covered a few key points.
First the realization that there are seasons of ministry within a calendar year and you must always be planning about 6 months in advance so that you can properly be prepared.
The other item was that those serving in ministry also have seasons. He covered a basic life cycle and shared how our life situations impact our ability to serve in ministry. He shared how just because someone may not be able to serve as they have in the past, does not mean that there is no place for them in your ministry. We may need to simply re-assign them to a task where they are able to serve.
