Jesus prepared to have His last meal with His disciples. We remember Him breaking the bread and taking the cup as signs of what was about to occur. And then He did something that most of us do… in His time of distress, He called out to God in prayer.
Like so many of us He asked God to take away what was going to cause Him hardship. Jesus knew the torment, the pain and the suffering that was waiting for Him, but ultimately He knew God’s Will and wanted that to be done.
Following Jesus isn’t always going to be easy, but in those times of trial and difficulty, cry out to God and He will strengthen you – as He did for Jesus in the garden that night. Things may not get easy, but you will be able to endure with a peace knowing that you are doing the Will of God.
