We will be celebrating Memorial Day this weekend in the U.S. The day is set aside to remember those who sacrificed their lives for the country and the freedoms the country claims. For some, there is no remembranceof those who lost their lives defending the U.S., just a day off from work, a time to grill, be with friends and family and maybe watch some fireworks, etc. It is important to remember, or memorialize people and events. Washington D.C. is full of monuments designed to help us remember key events and people in the history of the U.S. and there are monuments scattered across the country for the same reason.
God frequently uses things to help mankind remember the things that He has done for us. After the Israelites crossed the Jordan on dry ground, God had them build a memorial of 12 stones. Jesus used parables to help us remember what He was teaching and also used the bread and the cup to remind us of His sacrifice and the list could go on and on. It is important to have things to help us remember what God has done.
Tonight is the last night of Awana for several clubs in the U.S. What will you have, or do, to help you remember what God has done this past year? What do you do in your personal life to remember what God has done?
