When COVID entered the United States and many local governments began to restrict meeting together in large groups, many churches and Awana ministries had to adapt to a new way to reach children and youth. Many began to use an online and other options. There were several ways that Awana leaders began to reach children and families where they were…. at home.
Now as COVID seems to be waning and restrictions have been, or are being lifted, Awana clubs are beginning to plan the “in-person meetings” again, but are we beginning to neglect those who choose not to attend for any reason? Are we forcing them to come back to the building? Will we help parents teach their children the things of God if they do not?
See how God has been leading me to reach families who do not attend for any reason, how COVID expedited that process, and how I approached the Awana ministry changed dramatically.
