Recently, I attended a conference workshop where we were admonished to be sure to take a sabbath rest. There is a difference between recreation and a sabbath rest.
The sabbath rest was defined as resting in Him and allowing Him to guide and direct. Whereas recreation, we are calling the shots.
Just a quick note today to admonish you to take this time off from Awana and have a real sabbath rest. Take time to allow God to speak to you. I know that I often get caught up in the busyness of work, ministry and family life. I need to remind myself to make time to take that sabbath rest. For it is there that we gain a renewed vision and get refreshed. (Isaiah 40:31)

We used to live in an Orthodox Jewish neighborhood, I envied them their Sabbath. A Rabbi lived across the street from us – she told me the Sabbath was for time with God and time with family and friends.
I think the Lord may be speaking to me – I think yours is the third one in a week on the Sabbath.
