It is a joyous time of year as we focus on the four “F”‘s of the season:
- Family
- Friends
- Faith
- Finances
This time of year we remember and seek to spend time with our family and friends. We mourn for those relationships lost, whether through death, divorce, separation, distance, dispute, or whatever the cause.
We focus more on what God has done for us. Giving thanks for what He has provided materially, physically and through His son Jesus. We may even be a little bolder in our faith during this time because it is culturally acceptable.
Then finances, some consider end of the tax year implications and make the last minute dash to give to charities, churches, etc. Both religious and secular industries, whether for profit or non-profit, seek to garner that dollar you are going to spend with sales, or unending pleas. Most of my e-mail over the last week or so have been how to boost the affiliate links on the site, or how I need to give to their cause, or how great a sale they are having today, tomorrow and this week.
I have a confession.
There is a need to “monetize” the Commander Bill Network to cover costs, my time and to meet personal expenses. Though I do not actively sell products that I can discount, I could push the few affiliates and books via Amazon I do have, or put out the “desperate plea” for support to try to garner that dollar you will give to support others and I probably should. But as I receive the hundreds of e-mails from everyone, I cannot join the throng of solicitors. Yes, I know many depend on this time of year to put their books “in the black”, but it bothers me deep within. It’s what I call the “ugly side” of ministry.
So just a simple plea here….. if you would like to support the Commander Bill network, you may click on the donate button to the right.
Thank you and have a great holiday season.
